Use by Health Professionals for their Patients

A GP recently asked if she could prescribe Seven Songs for a Long Life to some of her patients most in need and we agreed that this was an innovative use for the film.

GPs, NURSES, occupational therapists can now ‘prescribe’ the film to patients and their families who want to approach end of life care at their own pace and in their own way. They are able to watch the film in their own homes. The film has been shown to encourage discussion between families and friends.

We’re trialling this new initiative with the film in GP surgeries in Edinburgh, offering DVDs and the online link to the film for doctors and health professionals who have patients who are finding it hard to talk about dying.
